To Benefit from a Reiki Treatment: all you need is the desire to be healed.Many people prefer Reiki Healing Treatments to other therapies because Reiki is so non-intrusive. During the treatment, you remain fully clothed. You can receive your treatment either seated or lying down, which ever is more comfortable for you. If you prefer, you may receive a Reiki Treatment without even being touched. It’s entirely up to you how much information you share with the practitioner. The duration of each Reiki Treatment varies, but generally speaking the initial treatment usually takes about 90 minutes and subsequent treatments 60 minutes. Benefits are generally apparent after 1 to 3 treatments.
Ki energy has been utilised for thousands of years in many Eastern practices: Acupuncture, Martial Arts, Tai Chi and Feng Shui to name but a few. Ki energy flows within the physical body through energetic pathways (meridians), much like blood flows through our veins. Ki also surrounds the physical body in an electromagnetic field (the aura). Ki nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When the flow of Ki is disrupted, it causes diminished function in the organs and cells. Reiki heals by flowing through the aura and the meridians, clearing disruptions in the flow of Ki.
You have a vital role to play in your Reiki Healing Treatment. Ki is responsive to thoughts and feelings, so before we begin, you’ll be asked to set an intention for the treatment. This may be: to relieve pain, to release bottled up emotions or simply to relax. You can set an intent to ease any condition: physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. Once you have set your intent, all you need do is close your eyes and be open to receiving Reiki Healing.
After your Reiki Treatment, it is important you give yourself time to ‘come back’ from the deeply relaxed state you have just experienced. Have a good stretch and a glass of water, before springing out the chair and running a marathon 😉
Having received Reiki Healing, your body will begin a detox. We strongly recommend you drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol and other intoxicants, for 3-4 days after your Reiki Treatment. Reiki Healing can also affect appetite and energy levels. Just listen to your body: eat as much or as little as your body wants and take extra rest or exercise.
Understanding Healing and CuringHealing is the process of becoming aware of the lesson contained within a particular dis-ease. Awareness of the lesson may come in just one treatment: or it may be a gradual process of realisation over several treatments.
Curing can occur on completion of the healing process for the whole of that particular dis-ease. The dis-ease has been accepted, the lessons it contains have been realised and integrated, and the patterns that caused it have been released.
Reiki treatments can: reduce pain on all levels, bring about relevent understanding, bring acceptance and alleviate symptoms.
Reiki treatments cannot guarantee a cure: we each have our lessons to learn and are each ultimately responsible for our own healing.
